Kanaloa is the Hawaiian god of the ocean, also known as the squid god.
The ancient Hawaiian fishermen would call upon Kanaloa for protection
when they would spear, fish or travel by ocean. Translated in Hawaiian,
the word "kanaloa" is "a sea shell; young stage of a fish." It also
means "secure, immovable." This nicely detailed, 3 dimensional, wooden tiki is hand carved. It measures about 8" tall x 2-1/4" wide x 2-1/4" deep.
