In 1877 Queen Pomare and the Tahitians secretly plan to revolt against France, aided by Britain and American saloon owner/gun runner Mike Macklin. He creates a cover story of getting married so he can sail to San Francisco for rifles. The local police chief is suspicious and insists on coming along to be the best man, so Mike has to enlist the help of gold-digging showgirl Wanda to play along with the sham marriage, though he doesn't tell her why. The couple sails back to the volcanic island of Kiloha with the smuggled guns where, Mikes girlfriend, the very curvaceous native dancer Mawaii, brings him a message about the pending rebellion. There's a hurricane coming, the volcano is erupting, and Mike must choose between his new wife and Mawaii.
