White Savage [1943 - Maria Montez - Jon Hall - Sabu - Sidney Toler - Turhan Bey - Technicolor] Far away in the enchanted fantasy South Seas (where only Hollywood could find it) is the idyllic Temple Island, ruled by the beautiful Princess Tahia. Romance ensues between a shark fisherman (Hall) and the Princess, but she believes he is only looking for a way to steal the golden treasure located at the bottom of the temple's sacred pool, and she banishes him. Meanwhile crooked traders are conspiring to get the treasure and the temple's god is angered. The fisherman tries to escape from his prison with the help of the comedic, but heroic temple boy (Sabu). Includes exotic stylized drum dancing, lots of sarong-clad girls and great earthquake scenes. (67 minutes)
Cobra Woman [1944 - Maria Montez - Jon Hall - Sabu - Lon Chaney Jr. - Technicolor] On the eve of her wedding to Ramu (Hall), the beautiful Tollea (Montez) is spirited away from her tranquil South Sea island to the mysterious, forbidden place of her birth, Cobra Island. Ramu follows with his young-but-not-too-bright friend Kado (Sabu) and their chimp Coco. Tollea has an evil twin (also played by Montez) who has taken control of the island and must be deposed. This deliciously campy film features pits of snakes, incredible costumes, exotic snake dances and erupting volcanoes. (77 minutes)
