On the day that high ranking Samoan Chief Semu Fatutoa received his traditional tattoos, he was weakened by the grueling ceremony and failed to save his nine year old daughter from drowning in the ocean. Compelled to flee his home he goes to work as a taxi driver in Honolulu to forget his old life, but his old life comes looking for him. As a tsunami speeds toward Honolulu, Semu begins to realize that it's high time he started living up to his title as he races to save a young Hawaiian girl separated from her family that he has spotted on the street.
Filmed on location in the jungles, waters and urban nightscapes of Oahu, Hawaii. Official selection of the Sundance Film Festival, Winner of the Best Short Film Audience Award at both the Hawaii International Film Festival and the Maui Film Festival, and Winner of the British Academy of Film & Television Award of Excellence.
