PAKA, THE WANDERING ISLANDER

Paka, the man who loves the beauty of Hawaii, the Aloha of her people and the warmth of her music, perpetuates his feelings for his island home wherever he performs.
Quite possibly the least publicized entertainer in Hawaiian music history, Paka, through his stories and songs, recreates the old "Hawaii nei" of palm trees, sandy beaches and golden sunsets. Magically, audiences are transported back to a time in the islands that will never be again… to the Waikiki of "The Hawaiian Wedding Song", "Beyond The Reef" and "Blue Hawaii"… to a place where romance fills the air.
Here is where Paka’s heart is and here is where he stands, beckoning to you with his melodies. His voice as smooth as a Waikiki wave, Paka’s style is so seductive, so easy to listen to, you’ll instantly be swept away to his tropical paradise where time seems to stand still.

Capturing a lifetime of exciting experiences, Paka has done the kind of things that many people only dream of. As a professional entertainer he has traveled the world. Singer, jazz drummer, recording artist, television and radio performer, Paka has thrilled audiences everywhere – from the United Kingdom and Canada, to the U.S. Mainland and the islands of the Caribbean.
When music from the Caribbean became a craze that swept across America, Paka was there at the forefront. Renowned for his clever, topical lyrics - all ad-libbed on the spot - Paka’s sensational "Calypso Impromptu" segment of the show was soon the talk of the town.

Before creating his "South Pacific Island Revue", Paka enjoyed a successful musical career in New York City. Throughout years of return engagements in the posh nightclubs of Manhattan and Long Island, his mellow voice and smooth singing style drew an ever-increasing legion of dedicated fans.
While still in New York, Paka had the opportunity to own his own nightclub, "The Grove", where music lovers from near and far would come to enjoy the best "the city that doesn’t sleep" had to offer.
Eventually, Paka heeded the call of the islands and returned to Hawaii.
Newly inspired by this place of serene beauty, Paka then formed his "South Pacific Island Revue", bringing to audiences through music and dance, the wonder and enchantment that is Hawaii.
Those audiences quickly discover that Paka’s sense of humor matches the depth of his musical knowledge, the stories and songs blending effortlessly into a spontaneous, "off the cuff" experience. Indeed, Paka never rehearses before a performance. The result is a relaxed, informal ambiance… just like being invited to a backyard luau. It’s not too surprising then, that Paka has been voted one of the most entertaining Hawaiian island performers.
Paka currently resides in Irvine California.
