Established by the Kalihi-Palama Culture & Arts Society to honor Hawaii's last reigning monarch, the Queen Lili'uokalani Keiki Hula Competition has showcased the talent of keiki for over thirty years. Traveling from near and far, talented keiki participate in perpetuating a cultural art form known as hula. With each movement, chant, and song, an important historical practice is kept alive.
The 34th annual festival features highlights of group and individual performances. Keiki celebrate their love for hula through graceful, comtemporary 'auana and possionate, traditional kahiko. With open arms these keiki embrace the past and sway into the future with aloha in their hands. (Run Time Approx. 4 Hours)
