Learn about the Pele legends, community values, and the desire to return to the land. Visit a working taro plantation on Maui, an isolated fishing village on the island of Hawaii, a small community in Kauai that creates beautiful shell lei from the tiny shells gathered on the island of Ni'ihau, and then voyage back in time on an ancient Polynesian sailing canoe.
