Riki Liufau and the award-winning Nonosina Dancers instruct and demonstrate TAHITIAN DANCE, HAWAIIAN DANCE, POI BALLS, and a short session of FIRE KNIFE DANCE. There are brief performances in authentic costumes in various settings, with the instruction being filmed in a studio. No specific choreographies are taught, but lots of beginner, intermediate, and advanced movements are demonstrated and discussed. Then the steps are combined and danced to various traditional drum rhythms and tempos. (48 minutes)
Learn 4 hula routines (beginner-advanced) from beautiful dancer, choreographer, singer, and actress Taina Passmore. Lessons progress from simple steps and movements to variations of increased difficulty and speed. Mirror imaging is used to make following the instructor easier. Each song is then taught one phrase at a time with slower music for learning the steps and hand gestures, and then at performance speed.
