Held in conjunction with the "We Are Samoa Festival", the World Fire Knife Dance Championship preserves Samoan culture in traditional island fashion. Dancers are judged on compulsory and technical moves, as well as choreography, pacing, and dramatic interpretation. And they use no oils or artificial aids to keep from burning themselves. Also includes a Junior Division for dancers under age 16. Includes the preliminaries to the exciting final championshhip. (90 minutes) (New) |
