| Each year hundreds of dedicated male and female dancers, chanters, and musicians gather in Hilo Hawaii to compete in spectacular authentic costumes and floral adornments at the Merrie Monarch Hula Festival. There are stirring kahiko (ancient style hula) and colorful 'auana (modern style hula). The winners are then selected by a panel of the world's leading experts on hula. |
